Home Sweet Home
Mom got some much needed rest last night and the doctors have already swung by for a visit this morning. After an A+ on her check-up, the doctors have released her from the hospital. YEA! So we will be packing up and heading home shortly.

Doing GOOD!
Mom has moved into her room and is doing great! She is a little tired from the surgery but overall , she looks and feels good!! Mom will be released from the hospital around noon tomorrow but for those who are interested, we are in the Hoblitzelle building of Baylor Hospital, on the 4th floor, Room 418.

Out of Surgery
Though we got started late, things have moved quicker than we thought they would. We just got a visit from the doctor and Mom is out of surgery! The doctors said she did great but anticipate that she will be in recovery for a couple of hours. She will then be moved to a patient room within the hospital. Once we know the actual room number, I will let you know.
**Update from last post**
Mom's lymph nodes have been sent off for testing and it will take at least 3 business days to receive the results.

News from the Doctor
We got started a little late today. The surgery did not get started until about 1:55pm. We just got our first update from the doctor and he has removed the lumps and some of her lymp nodes for testing. At first look, he said the surface of the nodes look healthy; suggesting that the cancer might not have traveled beyond the breast. However, we will not know an official diagnosis until the pathologist studies them a bit closer. But for now, this is great news!

Getting Things Under Way
Mom is about to go into surgery now. Once they start, the procedure will take about 5 hours and then she will be in recovery another 2. The doctors will be calling Dad and keeping the family up to date during the whole process. I will post again with our first wave of information.

TODAY
Hi guys...
Today is the day! Mom has been at the hospital since about 7 this morning (not to mention a full day on Wednesday) prepping for surgery. At 12:30pm, Mom will finally go in. I'm not sure when we will hear from the doctors or get to see Mom but I know you are all worried about her as much as we are so keep close to the computer as I will post information as we get it. Or please feel free to call me if you have any questions, want an quicker update or just want to know how Mom is feeling. 214.538.3085 is my cell phone and most of you already have Mom's. As you can imagine, Mom will not be firing out texts or chatting away hours like usual so my Dad will be trying to keep up with her phone while she is in the hospital.
What we do know:
We will be located in the Hoblitzelle building. Before surgery, Mom will be held in a pre-op room and able to see only one family member at a time. Once we get assigned an actual room where Mom can have visitors, I will let you all know.
Thank you all so much for your love and support! Much more to come later...
